OLYMPIC boxing champ Katie Taylor has donated her gold torch from the London 2012 relay to raise money for a girl suffering from cancer.
The gold medal-winner’s mum presented the torch from the Olympic Torch Relay to help with fundraising for Merryn Lacy.
Merryn (4) suffers from stage four neuroblastoma and her family hope that she can receive vital treatment in the USA.
A big fundraising night was held in Bray at Koo nightclub called ‘Robbie Doyle’s Sing For Merryn’.
BRAVE MERRYN WAS THERE ON THE NIGHT AND PULLED OUT THE WINNING TICKETS FOR THE RAFFLE.
Just last week Katie visited the four-year-old who is fighting the aggressive childhood cancer of the nervous system.
Friends began to fundraise to support the little girl’s treatment and a friend introduced the family to champion Taylor.
“Katie was just brilliant, couldn’t have asked for a nicer person,” said Michael Lacy, Merryn’s father.
